I used to merely despise them.
Now I hate them.
The right. The Tories.
And the people that vote for them.
Let's recap. In the UK, where I live, we are currently experiencing the effects of a corrupt, lying, duplicatous, Conservative Government. Two outcomes are the ongoing disaster that is Brexit, but that's got to be capped by the calamatous policy failures around the Tories' response to the Covid pandemic. Other's have written at length about the Tories consistent failures in governance and their ongoing (probably corrupt) egregarious transfers of public money, the tax you and I pay, to their mates in hugely costly public purchases. £22B, and rising, on the continuingly failing Test and Trace programme is but one example in many.
120,000 excess deaths due to COVID-19 makes "plague-island" one of the worst places to live in the world. This is what has turned my disdain fo the Tory party into out-right, visceral, hatred. Malicious or incompetent? Porque no los dos?
However, the incompetent, lying, malevolent MPs that make up the Tory party didn't elect themselves. And it's the voter that elect them, frankly, that deserve the most ire.
